A person must stand in fear of just those things that truly have the power to do us harm, of nothing else,
for nothing else is fearsome.
~ Beatrice, Dante Alighieri's 'The Divine Comedy'
Having completed over five years of counselling training, I am studying towards an MA in Psychotherapy with The Institute of Psychosynthesis in London. This training, and my experience of management, mentoring and coaching, has afforded me a foundation in providing a safe, confidential and professional counselling service, complemented by an intuitive and compassionate approach to working with clients.
You will notice the forest based theme throughout my website: this is because I believe the forest embodies the cyclical beauty and nature of life and we need look no further to see an external representation of our own internal development.
I find the forest offers a place to reflect and to be in the world. When walking in the woods, the various paths encountered represent the various paths and choices faced everyday; as we say yes to one thing, we are saying no to something else.
Forests change with the seasons, and being mindful of this affords an opportunity to look at our own psyche and personal seasons in life - reflecting on the birth of new ideas and growth, the times to simply be still in the world, the times to harvest and cut back and the times of darkness as winter draws in, perhaps bringing with it the winds of challenge.
In this busy, fast-paced and sometimes hectic world, I offer a space where clients can pause and choose to step out of the tumult of the external world, and obligations to others, and take an hour to nurture their inner selves, to tune into their needs, their fears, unhelpful patterns or unresolved areas which stop them living their lives fully. A space where they prioritise their journey, their psychological well-being, their hopes and dreams. In doing so, they can return to the outer world refreshed and empowered. I believe counselling is one of the most important services I can offer which is why I am on this journey and why I want to help my clients on theirs. My counselling service is open and accessible to all, please see my contact page if you would like to know more.
